Books about social media can go one of two ways for me, but in this one, the way it plays out is fresh and realistic. One of my favourite parts about this book is the way social media is included.
Both characters are dynamic, and together, they have such snarky conversations–both online and offline–that are so much fun to read. However, deep down, he feels like he’s living in his popular twin brother’s shadow, and he feels pressured to inherit the family business. Jack is essentially Pepper’s opposite: the laidback class clown and the captain of the dive team. Pepper is a hardworking, straight A student and the captain of the swim team, but she also struggles to fit in and to impress her mom. This book features two main characters through dual narration, and both are realistic.
